With Influences Ranging From Grunge Knowledge Base
How do i go about starting a band? I know it is simply something i MUST do. I have dreamt about it everyday of my life for I don't even know how long, maybe since age 11. The therapeutic release that comes from music, especially your own, I feel is something that would change my life. I can't sing, period. But that is fine, the type of musical genres i would endure in would be ranging from punk to metal to grunge, and there is not too much legitimate singing in my influences. I have anywhere from 20 to 60 songs written. Obviously, some are better than others, but nonetheless i have read a handful of my pieces to a couple people and from what I am told they are very good. Even when comparing lyrics that i have written to lyrics I hear on the radio I sometimes think "how the hell did this band even get a record deal?". I know what you are thinking... so what's the problem? I have done "special guest" vocals for a friend's band once at a local show and when i hopped off stage into the crowd after the breakdown i just screamed in, i got several hugs and a lot of "holy sh*t, that was amazing!". I've even gone about asking a person or two if they would ever want to start a project and they have agreed (however only one of those people live near me). THE PROBLEM IS: i was drunk when i screamed for the "special guest" appearance, and even then i was nervous as hell. But the feeling i had on stage with the mic in my hand was the biggest high i had ever experienced. It was beautiful... but my stage-fright and self-consciousness of me screaming in a room with 4 or so people (practicing) is what is holding me back.

Help me with a music slogan for my band, 10pts? The ideal BIS tightly focuses on exactly who you are, what you do, and how it benefits potential customers and fans. It should leave no doubt in the prospect's mind as to what he or she gets from you. I am having trouble thinking of one for my music. An Example BIS statement for a band is "the soundscape of U2 with the killer riffs and vocals of Tool". ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I play rock guitar with a classical influence (without a guitar pick) I am a female rock vocalist (low range alto-vocals) My influences are post-grunge, blues, and classical. Rock-(pearl jam, silverchair, STP, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains) Blues-(Allman Brothers) classical-(Andrew york) Come up with a BIS statement for the info I gave you/something creative and I'll give you 10pts. I suppose it was a mistake that I mentioned I was female, I should have lied and said it was my boyfriends band, and I actually might have had good answers. Actually I think that is what I am going to do. Also my music is just about music, it's not about how any one looks were not selling an image. If we wanted to do that we would be wannabe pop stars. But that music makes me sick.
