what are some fun activities toddlers can do inside? we live in a very cold state and would appreciate some ideas of fun things for my two year old to do. (I let her watch TV/Movie no more than a few hours a week).

Is my 20-month-old average/do you know any good activities for toddlers? I picked up a book from the library called "The Everything Toddler Activity Book". It has a number of good activities in it, and has them labeled by age (usually 18-30 or -40 months, or 30+ months). However, most of the activities for children as young as 18 months, I feel like my 20 month old couldn't do. For example, one is called "Where is my pair?" You are supposed to divide things like pairs of socks and have your child find its mate. I don't think my girl understands that concept, yet it says "18-40 months". Another is a traveling game, where you look out the window and spot, say, a cow. You then say "I see a mooooo". If you saw a horse, you would say "I see a neeeeigh" and so on. My kiddo doesn't know too many animal noises. She knows "meow" for kitties and "arf" for doggies. I've taught her to say "Ca-CAW!" and tried to associate it with birds (since she does know what birds are) but I'm not sure if she gets that it is supposed to be a bird noise. She has a huge vocabulary, but like I said, as far as sitting down and doing activities like these, it seems like she just wouldn't get the concept of what is going on. This is my first child and I don't really know a whole lot about child development. I did take a class a few years ago, as in a class for school, but it didn't give so much detail. As a side note to my question/insane ramblings/whatever's going on here, I wanted to ask also if anyone had any ideas for simple learning activities. I'm really interested in sending her to a Montessori school, but right now I just don't have the tuition fee. I would love to find out what sort of activities they do there with young toddlers, so if you happen to know the types of things they do there, that would be awesome for me!
