Gifts For Coworkers Knowledge Base
What are some good ideas for gifts for coworkers? Last year, a couple people in our group at work gave out presents for Christmas. One gave out desk calendars, and another gave each of us chocolate and a bottle of wine. I want to give out something, but not repeat their ideas, since I'm not sure if they are doing the same things again.
How many of you buy your husband's family, friends coworkers gifts for him? Do you shop for your spouse's gifts, wrap them, etc for them, or do they do that for themselves? I did, but I started feeling like his mother after awhile. I mean, he should do this for himself, right? He knows all of these people better than I do, too. It's hard to shop for people you don't know well. What's the norm? Do most wives shop for their husbands' holiday gifts?
Holiday gifts for coworkers? A friend and I are cooperating on making gifts for our 6 coworkers. We were planning on making the flower pot pen holder craft. My coworker thinks this would be more expensive than giving an assortment of baked goods. We only have one evening to make the gifts. Which of these is the best idea? Do you have any other suggestions? P.S. we work in a school Also, some gifts have already been given to us from our coworkers. They include chocolate and a candle.
Do you give christmas gifts to your coworkers? last year i gave shortbread cookies to my department members. but this year things have been so hectic and some people have already left for vacation...should i bother to bring anything in?
Coworkers and Christmas gifts? I work in a dept. of 6, and I like each individual differently with the exception of one that I just do not like at all. I'm not going to lie, but I dont want to get her anything for the holidays at all, so what should I do? I am definately getting my other coworkers gifts (around $20 each), but I would feel bad if I didn't get my other coworker something, what shoudl I get her in hopes that she doesn't realize that IF I get her a gift, it'll be meaningless compared to the others I get.
What are good gifts for Indian Coworkers? I've recently added some team members that work in India, and I want to send them a welcome aboard/Holidays gift. I don't know their religions, so I'll be downplaying the holiday aspect. Still, I don't know what a good gift would be! They are all technical, so I was thinking something on-line (itunes, Amazon?). If anyone has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it!
Is it ok to give some coworkers gifts and not others? There are like 100 people in my building and I am friendly with almost everyone. I work with many people in many different capacities. I can't obviously afford to buy something for everyone, but I want to give my "cube-mates" a little something. I also want to give something small to my boss who has been very helpful and supportive over the past year, and something to a newer girl here with whom I've become friends. There is this other guy who sits on the other side of the wall from me, and I am afraid he will hear something about the gifts and feel bad. How would you handle this? I don't see these people I am talking about outside the office. Most of us live quite a ways from eachother.
What gifts can I bring back from India ? I'm going to India on a business trip. I'd like to bring back some gifts for coworkers (I was thinking Indian sweets and candy, not sure which kind to get), and some gifts for family. I was thinking to get some saris for my little nieces, but not sure what to get for my nephews ages 3-7.
How can I cut down on the cost of Christmas gifts for coworkers? The holiday season is approaching, and soon enough I will begin my Christmas shopping. As much as I love buying gifts for people at work, every year, it seems as though there are more and more people on the list. I really need to cut down on how much I spend this year. I need creative, reasonably inexpensive presents to give to my coworkers so that I do not have to spend less on my family. They should still be thoughtful gifts that people will appreciate. Anyone have any good, original ideas? I have a good amount of time if it involves making something.
Gifts for coworkers? Last year was my first holiday at my new job, and I baked everyone their own personal little cake and gave everyone cookies. I felt that was enough, and they all chipped in and got me a really nice gift, so I did feel a little outdone (I'm their secretary, though, so it seemed appropriate) Anyway, do you buy for your coworkers? I just don't have that much money and I would go completely broke if I had to buy for all of mine.
gifts for coworkers.? i'm on tight budget, is it ok if i get something for everyone in the office to share, like a box of chocolates or cookies, or should i still get everyone individual gifts?
what gifts can i give my coworkers for thanksgiving? I work as a sale associate at a clothing retail store. I'll be working with everyone this friday for black friday, and I know it's the day after thanksgiving, but I wanted to give something to my coworkers. Since I'm not working today, I though I would give them on Friday. I was thinking of just making little goody bags with chocolates and sweets, does it sound too cheap? I can't afford anything big, but I wanted to give something to everyone. Does anyone have any ideas?
Do you exchange holiday cards and gifts with your coworkers, and do you feel pressured to do the same for them? this new girl just started and she gave me a christmas card and signed it "love with her name"...I called her and thanked her, but felt her nice suggestion was bit weird. We're not F-ing family, cards and gifts don't mean that i have to be extra nice to you, ...I got inot an argument with one of the temps, the next day he give me a card. I wish them happy holidays but I don't like to give gifts or exchange things, feels like a bribe to get me to be nice to them
What Christmas gifts should I get my Boss and coworkers? I work at a small firm where I have two bosses (the partners) an office manager and a secretary. I am an associate. Anyways I have purchased movie tickets for the partners and will give them all a little candy but my problem and question arises out of what I should do for the office manager. I feel like I need to do something extra for her, at least more than what the secretary is getting since the secretary was just hired in October. Any ideas for something inexpensive for the office manager.
Should I get Christmas/Hanukkah gifts for my coworkers? I'm a temp.? The two admin on staff got everyone cards (there are 6 or 7 of us). I'm doing phone work and my assignment is indefinite. Should I get everyone a card too? Or I was thinking of making these: http://www.realsimple.com/holidays-entertaining/gifts/homemade-holiday-gifts-00000000024318/page8.html Should I even bother at all? What's the holiday gift expectation of temps?
What is an appropriate gift for a coworkers daughter? My coworkers daughter is getting married in august and I was invited. I am 23 yrs old and am on a tight budget. I have never met the bride or groom before. I will be going with my boyfriend and was just wondering what an appropriate gift would be. I was thinking $100 but is that too little?
Should I buy gifts for my coworkers? I can't decide whether or not I should buy gifts for the people I work with. This is my first year there, I wasn't there last year, so I don't know what they usually do. I would feel strange just asking. There are six other people in my department, all girls/women, so I guess I could just get them all a little something from Bath and Body Works or something. We all get along fine. You know how it is, you don't want to make the people feel guilty buying them a gift if they don't buy you one, but if they give something to you and you don't have anything to give them you feel like a piece of shit. What would you do?
Gifts for guy coworkers? We're doing seceret santa this year and we haven't drawn names yet, but the guy will be between 16 and 25, and there's a ten dollar limit.....
Should I worry about my girlfriend's coworker giving her expensive gifts? I would like to know what your opinions are on my question. My girlfriend of almost two years has been receiving expensive gifts from a male coworker of hers and has accepted invitations to pricey dinners with him. She claims he is a friend who looks out for her at work (she works for the government and it can sometimes be quite cut-throat). He has gotten her $150 dollar dinner gift certificates to the local casino, a $150 bottle of champagne, and most recently a gift certificate for her to go get a massage treatment at a local day spa. Her gifts for holidays and birthdays in return to him have been in the $30 range. Also, the other day I noticed that he had sent her a joke to her myspace page that was sexual in nature (the only comment that he has sent to her page). For this Christmas, her and I set a gift-giving limit on each other of $150 each. I told her I am somewhat bothered by her coworkers gifts, knowing that his one gift to her may be more expensive than what I give her.
What is a good Christmas gift for my coworkers? I'm thinking of doing a tin a cookies for each of them, there are only 6. I've only been with the company for 6 months so I don't really know any of them that well, but I want to do something.
Do you have any Christmas gift ideas for coworkers? I work in an office of about 10-12 women. We're a fairly tight-knit group, and almost always get each other something for Christmas. I like to make homemade gifts, assuming that I have the time necessary...but, I've run out of ideas for this year. Does anyone have anything that has worked before? Or just any ideas???
how much do people usually spend on Christmas gift for coworker? I have 4 staffs I work with and I want to buy them gifts for Christmas to let them know I appreciate them but I don't want to seem cheap or I don't want to end up with huge credit card dept either. How much do people spend on coworker? they are all women in 20's and 30's. they are all married except one. I am a man by the way in my 30's . any tip on gift for them?
Thank you letter for gifts receieved? Yahoo fam, I am on a strict budget this christmas, hence I could not purchase gifts for my coworkers who gave me presents. Any ideas/suggestions for a nicely worded letter? I am thinking about mailing letters/thank you cards to them. Thank you all in advance for your response!
What do you think it means when one of your coworkers buys everyone a gift except you? When they all buy each other gifts... except you. When they draw names for Secret Santa... on the day you're not there... and you wind up trading with your boss who bought someone a pancho one year. When none of them speak to you. When they make plans without you... etc. etc. I'm the youngest in this group... why do they single me out? A woman who use to work here was actually fired for not 'fitting in' when they did the same to her...
What 's a reasonable gift to give male coworkers for Christmas? I work in a small art office that contains three male coworkers, including the boss. I don't know if I should give them a gift card, candy or liquior, but i want to give them something that is within a certain proce range. I'm not that close with them, but I would like to give them a " hey Happy Holiday...Merry Christmas gift."
What's a good gift to give my coworkers on my last day of work? I've been working for a company for a few years now, and I'm going to be leaving soon to further my education. It's been a great company to work for, and everyone has been very supportive of me. I work in a small office with only 6 employees. I want to do something nice for them on my last day of work, but I can't afford to spend a lot of money. Any good ideas?
Homemade crafty Christmas gift ideas for coworkers!? Hi there. I have about 20 co workers or so that I would like to handmake a gift for. I'd like them all to have the same gift. I was thinking about buying 20 mugs (hopefully from the dollar store or somewhere inexpensive) and then putting a hot chocolate mix, hershey kisses, mini marshmallows and a candy cane inside. And then wrap it and tie it so it looks festive. Do you have any other ideas that are inexpensive and something I can make? Thanks!
coworker receiving gifts from customers!? My other coworkers and I have started to notice that this girl we work with flirts A LOT with our customers... which isn't a problem I guess... until they start buying gifts for her and taking her out on dates, that is. Two weeks ago, she went to lunch with one customer. Last week, a man brought her a brand new purse and a 14K gold heart-shaped necklace. Today, a MARRIED customer brought her a heart and diamond bracelet. Needless to say, my other coworkers and I have had enough. We told her she needed to stop accepting gifts from these men before she lost her job over it. She became really worried, so went to our manager and gave him the bracelet, saying she "didn't want to lose her job because of dirty men buying her gifts." What the...? Are we being unreasonable for feeling this way about her? She's very young - 20 - and men call the store for her all the time. When she's not there, they come in asking for her. When will it end?!? Yes, at my job, it IS against company policy to accept gifts in excess of $50 from a customer. AND... no, my coworkers and I are not jealous of this girl... we're just tired of people coming up to us all the time asking for her and calling the store all the time asking for her, asking us for her number, asking us if she's available, asking us how old she is, etc. The customers walk right past us to get to her and ask her questions about products in the store, and then she turns right to us and asks us. It's just annoying. Not jealousy, annoyance.
Grad gift? For coworkers daughter? Not even my co-work, my boyfriends. We were invited to Grad's party. What kind of gift and how much to spend? I never met any of these people. $25 gift is in my budget- Ross has some really nice name brand breifcases/bags for women....normally priced $180. But I don't know if she has a laptop or not. I don't know if she's going to college or what. Maybe a $25 target card?

Should I buy a gift for one of my coworkers? When I started with the company, a woman I knew well when I was young helped me A LOT to succeed in the company. I've decided to continue my studies, so today will be my last day.. Should I buy a parting gift? Thanks!
I was invited to a coworkers wedding shower. Do I have to attend or is it bad form to attend without a gift? I work in a pretty small office. I have only been working in this job for 4 months. Should I feel obligated to attend this wedding shower? I don't go to lunch with these coworkers often and this isn't a job where we interact beyond meetings and project discussions. If I do go, do I need to bring a gift or is it best that I just not attend at all? Does it look bad if I don't attend seeing as I will run into this person later at work? I guess I'm trying to choose the lesser of two evils here. I am not invited to the wedding. This is also being held during a work day lunch so I will see everyone after the shower if I don't attend.
What should I get my coworkers? I'm going on a 1 year maternity leave and would like to get my 2 closest coworkers a gift before I leave. One is a man in his 40s who is into music, politics, guitar and elctronics. The other is a woman in her 40s who doesn't really have many interests other than drinking but I'd like to be a little more creative than getting her wine. Ideas?
What's a good way to thank my coworkers for the baby gifts they gave me? I work in a small law firm (3 lawyers, 3 secretaries including me and a bookkeeper). Yesterday the girls surprised me with a little baby shower in the conference room. They all went in and bought some outfits and stuff and one girl's mother even handmade a blanket. It was so nice!! I know the normal thing to do is give thank you cards, but I think that's a little too stiff for this occasion (except for the mom who made the blanket - I definitely plan to send her a thank you card since she doesn't work here). Should I bring in something for everyone to eat like a nice cake? In addition to obviously thanking them each in person yesterday and saying how nice they were, what else would you do to show thanks?
